Wooster Scarlet, Gray and Green Fair

Join us for the Scarlet, Gray and Green Fair - The green way to celebrate Earth Day! The Secrest exhibit features hourly tree giveaways, including Ohio Buckeye, Shagbark Hickory, Shumard Oak and Scarlet Oak. Stop by booth #4 to enter! A Tree Campus USA tree planting ceremony will take place near Research Services at 3:00pm.


Guided Spring Walk

21st Plant Discovery Day - Plant & Art Sale
Saturday, May 10, 2014


A premier plant and art sale featuring hard-to-find annuals and perennials, herbs, woody plants and art for the home and landscape.  Bug Zoo and free tomato plant for kids. Food service provided by the Montessori School of Wooster.  FREE parking and admission. Auction proceeds benefit the Secrest Learning and Resource Center building fund. All guided walks depart from the Seaman Orientation Plaza.  Additional parking and restrooms are available in the arboretum.

Topic: Selecting and Planting Trees for a Qualilty Environment. The agenda includes a 30 minute guided walk, followed by discussion and refreshments in the Jack & Deb Miller Pavilion. Reservations are helpful, but not required.


Rose Garden Open House

The Ohio State University's Garden of Roses of Legend and Romance, whose 1,500 old-fashioned roses should be in full, fragrant bloom, will host a public open house. The program features tours led by rose experts, a pruning demo, and sale of a limited number of roses, all propagated from plants in the garden. Contact Kelly King for more info: king.1364@osu.edu.

Family Bug Night and Insect Walk

Bring the kids and share in the excitement of seeing insects active at night. Join us for Bug Zoo, insect collecting, 6-legged races, coloring and more!  Come with your flashlight, tennis shoes and jar for collecting insects. The program is free and all ages are welcome.
