Wayne Co. Heart Walk
Saturday, September 28, 2013

To raise money for life-saving research and educational programs, OARDC and ATI are participating in the annual Heart Walk. For every $1 raised, more that $2 come back into our community in the form of research dollars.  Last year, Ohio State received more that $1 milliln from the American Heart Association in research funding. This year, our team foal is to raise $2500, and we need your help! Visit our team page to make an online donation.

The goal of the American Heart Assoication is by 2020, to improve the cardiovascular health of all Americans by 20 percent while reducing deaths from cardiovascular disease and stroke by 20 percent.

In 1999 the American Heart Association set a bold 10-year goal: To reduce coronary heart disease, stroke and risk by 25 percent by 2010. We achieved the reduction in deaths ahead of schedule and made substantial progress against three of the six risk factors. Because of this success, the Board of Directors approved a 2020 Impact Goal. This new goal looks beyond helping people reduce their risk of heart disease and stroke by focusing on helping them build stronger health and a better quality of life.
