From Cleveland/north: Interstate 71 south to state Route 83 south to U.S. 30 west to Madison Avenue exit. South on Madison Avenue.
From Lorain/Elyria/north: State Route 83 south to U.S. 30 west to Madison Avenue exit. South on Madison Avenue.
From Columbus/Cincinnati/Dayton/south: Interstate 71 north to U.S. 30 east to Madison Avenue exit. South on Madison Avenue.
From Akron/Canton/east: U.S. 30 west to Madison Avenue exit. South on Madison Avenue.
From Mansfield/west: U.S. 30 east to Madison Avenue exit. South on Madison Avenue.
From Dover/New Philadelphia/southeast: U.S. 250 northwest.
From Toledo/northwest: U.S. 250 southeast to U.S. 30 east to Madison Avenue exit. South on Madison Avenue.

State Route 3 will also take you to Wooster.

OARDC's Wooster campus is at 1680 Madison Ave. (intersection of SR 83 South & US 250 East).

To Secrest Arboretum from OARDC main entrance: Turn left on Payne Ave. Payne will bear right and become Williams Road. Follow Williams to Secrest Visitor Pavilion.

Hybrid Witchhazel - Hamamelis x intermedia

If it seems miraculous that a shrub could flower in an area of the country that has average minimum winter temperatures of -10 to -20 degrees Fahrenheit, it is! But the wise witchhazel has a special adaptation to cold: while a sunny day above even slightly above freezing will pop the flowerbuds open, a sudden chill will cause the petals to roll up for protection. Then, at the slightest hint of warmth, they unfurl again, just like those paper favors kids like to blow on at birthday parties.
