    Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) begins a new collaboration with the Friends of the Secrest Arboretum with exciting free outdoor concerts. A Northeast Ohio favorite, vocalist Barbara Knight will open the 2021 summer series with tunes from the American Songbook. Hudson-based Tim Akin and his ensemble will accompany. Tap your toes and step back in time as you enjoy classic songs from the likes of Harold Arlen, Irving Berlin, Jerome Kern, Lerner & Lowe and more.

    Guided tree walks have been approved for the first half of the year! Hooray! Monthly tree walks feature all things trees.  A variety of topics will be covered, including proper selection and planting, insect pests and diseases. Please dress for the weather. Walks are limited to 9 people, and registration is required. Masks and social distancing will be required at all times. Due to limited space, preference will be given to those individuals who have not previously attended a 2021 tree walk. For this reason, we reserve the right to cancel your registration.

    Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) and the Friends of the Secrest Arboretum continue their summer concert series with Joe Leaman and Friends as they bring to you the high-energy sounds of the Caribbean with their steel drums. Joe is an in-demand percussionist, pianist, composer, arranger and educator throughout the greater Ohio region. As a steel pannist, Joe’s enjoys showcasing the range and versatility of the instrument by playing jazz, classical, and pop music, as well as music of the traditional Caribbean canon.

    Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) continues it summer concert series at the John Streeter Garden Amphitheater  with Grammy nominated folk/Americana artist Steve Free and his band. An internationally acclaimed award-winning singer/songwriter, Free draws his music from his Native American (Shawnee/Cherokee) and Appalachian roots. Registration is STRONGLY recommended.  Due to social distancing requirments, seating preference will be given to pre-registered attendees.

    Ohio Regional Music Arts and Cultural Outreach (ORMACO) closes out its summer concert series at the John Streeter Garden Amphitheater with Idle Twittering: A Flock of Flutes. French Flutist Louis Fleury (1878–1926) referred to music of the 19th century as “idle twittering.” What’s the antidote? A flock of flutes from Northeastern Ohio joins forces for a tuneful and tootful performance on flutes of all shapes and sizes with George Pope, Jane Berkner, Kyra Kester, Linda White.
