Secrest Arboretum offers various theme gardens and amenities with paved walkways, seating areas and a diverse collection of woody and herbaceous plantings. Our grounds are the perfect setting for a brisk walk, business retreat or picnic lunch with the family. While you are here, enjoy guided walks, self-guided tours, plant sales and community events. Additional amenities include ample parking, interpretive signage, restroom facilities and handicap accessible walkways.
Yes, you can bring your dog. All dogs must be on a leash at all times and cleanup of pet waste is the responsibility of the owner. We do provide pet waste stations to assist you in keeping our gardens clean. Waste stations are located at every arboretum parking lot.
Please do not allow dogs to relieve themselves on plants or in planting beds.
The use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drones) is prohibited on all Ohio State University property, including OARDC, Secrest Arboretum, ATI and research farms, without prior authorization. Please contact us at least 3 weeks in advance of your visit or event to request approval.
Yes! We have several spaces you can rent for your next event including, the Jack & Deb Miller Pavilion, John Streeter Garden Amphitheater, Taylor Pavilion, and Secrest Welcome and Education Center. These facilities are availble for rental year-round. Rental rates and information are available by contacting Wooster Campus Venues.
Yes, we welcome photographers. We ask that photographers be respectful of our living plant collections. Please refrain from having subjects climb plants or water features.
No, the CFAES Wooster Campus is tobacco free; the use of all tobacco products is prohibited on our grounds. Thank you for your cooperation!
Yes, we have a children’s garden known as the Buckeye Forest. For their safety, please do not allow children or animals to play in, or drink from, ponds and water features, or climb trees.
No. Secrest Arboretum is a botanical collection where active research is taking place. The unauthorized removal of plant pieces including seeds, leaves, and cuttings, is prohibited without prior written permission.
Do not remove or tamper with plant labels or signage.
